Jake Hanes, certified public accountant and owner of Action Tax Service in Auburn, recently rubbed shoulders with Gov. Jay Inslee and staff to provide the state with several business tax-saving strategies, helping both the government and small business owner.
Inslee and his staff are seeking ways to help businesses and collect revenues for the state to help offset deficits, Hanes said. In a series of large forum meetings, Inslee's team solicited ideas and examined solutions.
Hanes helped provide government leaders with different tax-saving ideas that would also produce revenues for the state.
As the economy continues to rebound, Hanes and other members of the Washington Association of Accountants hope government officials continue to listen and consider changing laws to collect and encourage compliance by business owners, and to help small businesses in the state succeed.
